Volunteers Needed!

It just takes one person to decide they are willing to volunteer to make their community a better place and the community WILL become a better place!  A volunteer is very important!  A volunteer is powerful!  Volunteers gives of themselves and receive the reward of knowing that they can bring about positive change!  We need more volunteers on our team to build a better community!  Below are some positions needing to be filled:

Committee Chairperson: Adopt Highway 530  This person coordinates three litter pickup work parties a year.
Committee Chairperson: Event Coordinator
We need a special someone to take the lead on keeping events current on our calendar and helping with our annual Darrington Day Celebration.  At this time we have some of our members doing double duty to get these days organized.
Committee Chairperson:  Visual Impact  The job of this person is to coordinate the subcommittee chairs, keep track of fundraising and be sure media goes out for accomplishments.
Subcommittee Chairperson - Visual Impact: Flowers For Darrington  Ongoing fundraising has been to raise money to buy spring and fall bulbs and plant them around town.  Our town will just keep getting prettier and prettier!  We need someone to head this effort!
Subcommittee Chairperson - Visual Impact: Historical Interpretive Gardens is restoring large artifacts depicting our heritage and adding landscaping around them.  These artifacts will be located at the town's future public parking area.
Subcommittee Chairperson - Visual Impact: Street Planters around
town.
Subcommittee Chairperson - Visual Impact: Coordinate work parties for Dot's City Park
Committee Chairperson: Economic Impact:
The job for this person is to coordinate its subcommittee chairs, keep track of fundraising etc.
Subcommittee Chairperson - Economic Impact: Shop Local  It is important to support our local businesses that support our community!  Shopping locally creates a stronger local economy, provides local jobs and provides local goods & services.  This job is to raise awareness of how important building a strong local economy is.
